Campaign: Scooby Cthulhu
Jump to navigation Jump to searchScooby Cthulhu uses the Trail Of Cthulhu game system by Ken Hite.
Occupations
The characters are college students or recent college graduates at Miskatonic University. The characters' Occupations reflect their future occupations, or at least their current major.
Drives
Every character has a Drive. Choose carefully, but if you decide that what you pick doesn't fit your character, you can change it later after you know your character better.
Buying Abilities
Abilities cost 1 build point for 1 point in the abilty, unless they are Occupational abilities, in which case you get 2 points in the ability for each 1 build point spent.
Characters get 16 points to purchase Investigative Abilities (Academic, Interpersonal, and Technical), and 65 points to buy General Abilities (including your Health, Sanity, and Stability).
If you have an Investigative Ability rating of 1 or higher, you're an expert at it. You shouldn't spend more than 3 or 4 points on any one Investigative ability.
If you have a General Ability rating of 8 or higher, you're incredibly talented at that activity.
Health
You get Health 1 for free. You should probably buy your Health up to at least 8, unless you are particularly frail. Your Health is capped at 12.
Sanity
You get Sanity 4 for free. You should probably buy your Sanity up to at least 8. Your Sanity rating can never be higher than 10 minus your Cthulhu Mythos rating. If you know nothing about the Mythos, your Sanity can be as high as you care to buy it. You will lose these points if you gain Cthulhu Mythos.
Stability
You get Stability 1 for free. You should probably buy your Stability up to at least 8, unless you are particularly unhinged. Your Stability is capped at 12.
